Space Flight And How It Has Been Accomplished

Konstantin Tsiolkovsky published the first realistic proposal of space travel in 1903, but it wasn’t until 1919 when Robert Goddard made space flight an engineering possibility with his paper “A Method of Researching Extreme Altitudes”. Goddard discovered a way to give liquid fuel rockets enough power to make inter-planetary travel possible. He also proved that rockets would fire in the vacuum of space through his laboratory work.

The Amazing History Of NASA

Since 1958, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has captured the imagination of people around the world. The administration was established after the Second World War in response to the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union. The competition between these two countries prompted the creation of NASA to foster space exploration.

The administration’s early objectives included creating satellites to gather data about the Earth, ballistic missiles that could be used for defense and launching scientific missions in hopes (more…)
